1/20/18: Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting
SMDA’s annual meeting and awards banquet is Saturday, January 20, at Duffy’s Tavern & Grill in Old Orchard.
5:30pm – Social Hour
6:00pm – Dinner
7:00pm – Awards
Join us for an evening of socializing and awards! Festivities will include a buffet dinner and the year-end award ceremony.
We will be raffling off a beaded browband and several horse-themed baskets. Raffle tickets will be available at the banquet.

1/1/17: SMDA Election Year
It’s an election year for SMDA Officers and Board of Directors for the 2017-2019 term.
There are two ways to vote:
- Survey Monkey – If you are a current SMDA member, watch for an email with a link to the Survey Monkey ballot.
- Hard copy ballot – If you do not want to vote via Survey Monkey, you can download the ballot here » SMDA Election Ballot. Please print a copy of the ballot and return by mail to the address on the form.

9/15/16: 2017 Membership Drive
It’s time for our 2017 membership campaign! Please print and mail the membership form, or register online by November 1st. SMDA is required to submit our membership roster to USDF by November 30.
To find your current USDF number, go to www.usdf.org/card and enter your name!
9/7/16: SMDA Board Meeting
All members are invited to attend the SMDA board meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, at 6:30pm.
5/31/16: Flu/Rhino Vaccine
Important Reminder
USEF Rule GR845 requires SMDA to obtain proof of Flu/Rhino vaccination within six months for all entries to our July 17 recognized show. Please submit a copy with your entry form, or scan/photograph/email a copy to the secretary before the show date.

Overwhelmed with all of your membership card numbers?
USEF has an online tool that allows competitors to search for, verify, and print membership information for horses, owners, and riders for competition entries. You can print all of your membership cards (USEF and USDF) on one sheet of paper and include it with your entry form! Go to http://www.eqverification.org/ to learn more.

4/1/16: SMDA Awards 2016 Grant Recipient
In recognition of its importance to the dressage community, SMDA awarded the Hollis Equestrian Park (HEP) the 2016 grant. SMDA, a non-profit club whose aim is to advance the sport of dressage, offers an annual grant to a worthy applicant committed to education and advancement of the sport. HEP submitted an application to request funding to upgrade the show arena fence. The white wooden fence that surrounds the arena is many years old, and HEP’s goal is to upgrade the fencing with a lower maintenance product that will improve the ring and last for years to come.
SMDA’s Board of Directors felt HEP’s grant application was a particularly worthy cause, and voted to increase the amount of the grant to $2,000 for this special project. The grant was gratefully received by HEP’s Board of Directors.

1/25/16: Congratulations SMDA Award Winners!
Thank you to everyone who attended SMDA’s year-end award banquet. It was a fun evening with great awards, great food, and great company! Several members earned their bronze and silver medals, as well as awards including elegant ribbons, saddle pads, hand-painted glassware, and SMDA jackets. Thank you to our members – you make our club a huge success!
